The Young Engineers of ESK – A Global Recognition.

In December, ESK Primary students showcased their innovative creations at the FIRST® LEGO® League international event.

“Every year, the FIRST® LEGO® League competition is hosted worldwide, and this year, we are proud to be the first school in history, to have the entire primary school from Year 1 to Year 6, participate in the event, and that’s 84 teams!

What is the FIRST®LEGO®League?

The FIRST ®  LEGO ®  League introduces STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering,Art and Maths) learning to students at a very early age. Through fun hands-on learning, students use creativity, critical-thinking and coding skills to solve real-world problems.

This year, our primary students took part in the “Superpowered” challenge. Over the weeks leading to the exhibition, students worked together in teams to design and programme their very own 3D renewable energy models, using Lego Education technology. Examples include wind-turbines, solar panels and charging stations.

Working Towards a Better Energy Future!

For the first round exhibitions, Year 3 and 4 students presented their renewable energy models and eagerly explained their research to our wonderful observers and parents. It was wonderful to see so many imaginative ideas come to life.

Year 4 engineers went one step further to design buildings and structures that link to their renewable energy sources, such as a moving cable car, a house and even a skate park. A very impressive variety of ideas and creations from such young students!

It was a remarkable event enjoyed by all!
