While most of us have been either learning or working from home, our very own Elementary School Choir and ESTV have been busy rehearsing and putting together a beautiful song called One Little Voice that reminds us of our unity, togetherness and community spirit.
Even while physically apart from one another, our children have been able to join together in this beautiful song that reminds us of our commitment to make the world, and our school, a better place where all can live as treasured members of the human family. Thanks to Mrs Underhill, Head of Music in the ES, and Mr Rayner, Head of ESTV, who worked so creatively to put this wonderful concert together from many, many different locales. Mind-boggling to think of the rehearsals!
The song, One Little Voice, begins with just that – the voice of one single child inviting us to join her in a song of hope, and soon there are two children, then four, and very quickly we have a group of many voices inviting the rest of us to join them in song. “Will you add your voice,” they sing, “Will you help to tell the world there are many reasons to rejoice?” If you listen carefully, you hear them sing first of making the world a better place, where all can live in unity, then moving along to sing of their commitment to make our school a place where we live and learn in unity in the brotherhood of man – daughters and sons in the human community, brothers and sisters of the SJI International family.
As Elementary School Principal Mr Tig Mooney said: “One Little Voice is a beautiful piece of music that celebrates all the things that are wonderful about our school.”
With contributions from High School instrumentalists and Elementary School staff, we are incredibly proud to share this with you all and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
