Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is an integral part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, designed to inspire students to engage with their communities while developing creativity, physical activity, and a commitment to service. At our school, CAS provides a dynamic platform for students to gain real-world experience and foster global citizenship.
This month, our CAS volunteers took center stage as multilingual tour guides at the renowned Córdoba Flora Festival. This annual celebration of floral art and natural beauty draws visitors from around the world, offering a perfect backdrop for our students to showcase their communication skills and cultural awareness.
Fluent in English, French, and Spanish—languages they’ve cultivated since early childhood—our students acted as bridges between the event and its diverse international audience. By guiding tourists through the festival’s vibrant displays, they not only supported a cherished local tradition but also honed their linguistic abilities and confidence in public speaking.
This experience highlighted the unique value of multilingualism in today’s interconnected world. For our students, it was more than just an opportunity to practice languages; it was a chance to immerse themselves in a meaningful cultural exchange, deepen their appreciation for Córdoba’s heritage, and connect with visitors from across the globe.
CAS initiatives like this exemplify the enriching, transformative experiences our students gain. They embody the IB’s mission to develop empathetic, capable individuals who are prepared to thrive in and contribute to a multicultural world.
