STEAM education, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, is an interdisciplinary approach to teaching that integrates these four core disciplines. It aims to foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity in students.
At ISSH we do not only cater to students’ social, emotional, and personal development but also focus on STEAM subjects. We believe that these core disciplines prepare our students for the demands of a dynamic and evolving workforce they will meet once leaving the safe environment of our school campus after graduation.
Therefore we are proud to announce a remarkable achievement by one of our grade 11 boarding students, Stanislaw, who has excelled in the Swiss Chemistry Olympiad. This prestigious competition involves a series of challenges in various disciplines, including science, mathematics, and the humanities, and is designed for pre-university students. Competitors go through rigorous rounds of exams to test their skills and only a select few progress through each stage.
Out of more than 700 competitors, Stanislaw placed second, winning a gold medal and the honour of representing Switzerland at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Saudi Arabia. This achievement not only highlights his exceptional talent in chemistry but also underscores the intense dedication and effort he has put into his academic pursuits.
As Stanislaw prepares to compete on the world stage against some of the best young chemists in the world, we invite our community to support him. His journey exemplifies the pinnacle of academic excellence and commitment that we seek to inspire in all of our students.
