ISA Students Present at International School of Düsseldorf Earth Week

Following the success of ISA’s recent Education and Sustainability Leadership Sustainability Summit, two ISA students, Mia Reyn, grade 11, and Ethan Chassin, grade 9 were invited to present to school leadership, teachers and students at the International School of Dusseldorf’s Earth Week on Tuesday, 30 May. This was a wonderful opportunity for Mia and Ethan to share their sustainability stories with a wider audience and connect with meaning with an emerging alliance of sustainable schools.

Ethan discussed his tree planting initiative, which preceded his arrival at ISA and has led to him leading the planting of over 1000 trees across the Netherlands over the past 18 months.

Mia highlighted her book, ‘A Blueprint for Saving Our Planet’ which she produced, for her MYP Personal Project project a year ago. Mia talked about how the shape of ISA’s recent inaugural Sustainability Week had been shaped by the chapters in her book. Both Ethan and Mia presented with remarkable maturity and composure. They left their audience with twin reflective provocations; “So what?” and “What next?” Watch this space for answers to those questions.
