Switzerland urges all member states to establish structures to empower women

Diverse students at a United Nations-themed conference representing Italy and global cooperation.

What sounds as a debate in the United Nations offices in Geneva or New York, will on November 4th be reality on the Zugerberg. High school students from schools across Switzerland and Germany from more than 30 different nations will meet at the MMUN17 conference. The debate takes place in a United Nations context and is a part of the Swiss International boarding school Institut Montana’s efforts to enhance the international mindedness of the younger generation and to excite them for the United Nations and international cooperation. In addition to the debate, this year’s guest speaker is the Swiss Member of Parliament Dr Gerhard Pfister, who will address the topics education, international relations and equal opportunities from his experiences as a member of the parliamentary commission of foreign affairs. The speech will be followed by a Q&A session.
