School Health & Safety Protocols in the Covid-19 Era

Temperature check for school student in health screening, girls with glasses and mask.

Rugby School Thailand , like many other schools, has been able to open its gates for the final weeks of the 2019/20 academic year. It has been a joy to have a school full of children playing, laughing, and learning once again. However, in the Covid-19 era, we must adapt to a ‘new normal’ and adhere to safety protocols to protect school communities from the spread of the virus.

Here are our current school protocols:

Masks must be worn while at school

All staff and students are required to wear a face mask on the school campus.

Campus entry points are carefully monitored

We have staff monitoring each entry point into the school. This personnel will check masks are being worn, distances are being kept, temperatures do not exceed the threshold, and hands are sanitised on entry. They can also help with any questions that may arise.

Temperatures are checked to prevent infection

We have thermo scanners in place, as well as nurses at entry points to take individual temperatures if required after scanning.

Foot mats and hand sanitiser help kill the virus

The foot mats we have in place at entrances guide the community into the entrance, while also sanitising shoes. In addition to these we have signage around school to remind the community about the protocols in place.

Regular cleaning during the day ensures safe environments

As well as the school being given a deep-clean by a specialist firm, we have teams of cleaners on-site who will be regularly cleaning all the rooms during the school day.

Distance markers assist with social distancing

Keeping a social distance is a key part of preventing the spread of the virus, so we have placed markers throughout the school to show staff and students where they should stand and sit.

Mealtimes are designed to prevent spreading the disease

Everyone must sit at a distance, wash their hands before mealtimes and bring their own water bottle to the dining room. Despite this the tables are full of happy chatter as always!
