Rugby School Thailand is delighted to have been nominated for two TES International School Awards. This is the first year for these awards and they aim to highlight the most outstanding schools and teachers that the global education community has to offer. We are very proud to announce we have been shortlisted for the following categories:
THE BEST USE OF TECHNOLOGY
Nominee: Mr Richard Burkhill, Director of Digital Learning
This nomination recognises the fantastic work Mr Burkhill has done to integrate the best technology for improving the educational experience for our students and enhancing the quality of learning. He is known around the School for his eccentric suit choices, but there’s more to him than just a jazzy outfit. Mr Burkhill has used student and staff voices to shape and run the School’s digital learning strategy; he has implemented a BYOD scheme, created a student-led Tech Team, run regular workshops to empower parents when it comes to digital safety, upskilled staff, initiated a leading e-sports team, and supported teachers integrating technology to enhance their subjects.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE
Nominee: RST Make A Difference (“RST MAD”)
This nomination shines a light on the incredible student-led service charity initiative that has now successfully been rolled out across all sections of Rugby School Thailand. The charitable ethos of RST MAD has become a beating heart in our community and raised a huge amount of money to ‘make a difference’ to people and places around us. Through our community engagement, student immerse themselves in a trinity of positive change:
- Making a difference to others.
- Making a difference to themselves, by developing a healthier sense of self.
- Making a difference to the wider student body, by educating them about a diverse range of needs, in and outside our community.
The values and beliefs of our whole School student body are being shaped through encounters with the challenges and triumphs of those in need.
Winners of the TES Awards will be announced in late April, so we’ll keep you posted at that time. In the meantime, why not peruse our brand-new website… here!
