Institut Montana Cambridge English Foundation Year is aimed at students in Grades 5-7 who need to acquire firm English language skills to enter an international academic programme.
The four academic programmes of our International School represent a comprehensive 21st century skills focused curriculum that is entirely delivered in English. To become a linguistically confident student who feels at ease studying an English language-based curriculum, a strong command of the language is of paramount importance.
Building linguistic skills ideally without having to repeat an academic year
Building sound linguistic and academic skills during the Institut Montana Cambridge English Foundation Year will enable students to seamlessly transfer to our mainstream Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (Grades 6-8) ideally without having to repeat an academic year.
Best language & content-based preparation for our International School
Linguistically talented, academically fit and behaviourally disciplined students will be offered the opportunity to develop their language skills up to the CEFR B1 level while learning the gist of the Grades 5-7 curriculum content in a pioneering interdisciplinary and hands-on way by focusing on the following core areas of learning:
- Language: English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Sciences: Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, ICT
- Culture: Arts, Crafts, Sports
Joyful, nurturing and lasting learning experiences
On top of this, the students will be fully immersed in the everyday use of the English language through the following co-curricular learning opportunities:
- Outdoors: Physical Outdoors Programme (POP)
- Our region: applied curriculum content right on our doorstep
- Study & Life Skills: guided advisory, EAL evening Studium, work-life balance
