The Early Years Chinese New Year celebration held on Wedensday has united us in a joyous celebration of Chinese culture in the foyer, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere for all to enjoy. And our youngest students have been showcasing their Kungfu skills on stage, captivating the audience with their agility and spirit.
Across two assemblies—the Primary Chinese Culture and Language Assembly and the Secondary Chinese New Year Assembly— we come together to celebrate not just the new year, but also to honor the essence of our culture and traditions. These events showcase the outstanding performances meticulously prepared by our talented students and teachers, featuring singing, dancing, drama, Kungfu, lion and dragon dances, all of which reflect our appreciation for Chinese culture.
The school-wide Chinese New Year music concert, organized by the SSIS music department, was a true spectacle. The stage lit up with mesmerizing acts from the Choirs, Orchestra, Taiko drummers, and our talented Kungfu enthusiasts.
Additionally, the SSIS canteen featured special Chinese-themed food and an incredible Sichuan face-changing performance! Students experienced the unique charm of this Chinese intangible cultural heritage.
These events have fostered a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere, bringing the school community closer together while underscoring the value of cultural appreciation and understanding.
We wish everyone a happy and prosperous Year of the Snake and a joyful Spring Festival!
