For example, students at ISR have the opportunity to participate in enrichig Career Talks with different companies. At these events, interested students gain transparent insight into the fields of banking, law, management, consulting and various other professions and industries. Students also have the opportunity to engage in discussion with decision-makers of these companies.

What are my  next steps in my academic journey after graduation? What courses do I choose inorder to realise my goals? What criterias should I consider when applying?

Starting in Grade 8, questions like those above regarding further education and career goals are addressed at ISR International School on the Rhine.  Students are individually supported in finding these answers. As early as middle school, a member of the University and Career Councelling (UCC) team at ISR, meets with the students on a regular basis. Our UCC team, comprising of two qualified full time career guidance counselors, research and tailor make a student’s options for each students’ career choice. They encourage the students and their parents, who can also attend the counseling sessions, to ask open questions, as well as discuss individual plans and wishes with our in-house experts.

The strengths of the students are worked out in a targeted manner so that, in conjunction with their interests, a plan can be drawn up for their career aspirations and the path to achieving them. Along the way, it is essential that students gain initial company experience and work out their preferences through internships.

The University and Career Counselling team at ISR has access to a wide range of national and international cooperation partners and can thus optimally accompany students on their way to success.

ISR’s partners include companies such as Henkel, Bird & Bird, Deutsche Bank, Johnson & Johnson, UPS, Bain & Company and many other well-known organizations.

Career Talks

In addition to offering work placements and internships, corporate partnerships also have the decisive advantage for schools in that high-ranking company representatives are happy to offer presentations and workshops, known as Career Talks, for students.

These events are structured in such a way that ISR students are informed about the various work fields within a company through presentations and workshops. Afterwhich, students can ask personal questions to managers, CEOs and decision-makers during Q&A sessions. Career Talks are particularly interesting for students who are undecided between two career fields, this allows them to gain insight and make a decision more fitting to them.

Together with its partner companies, ISR has developed exciting and moreover enriching formats over the years, which could be seamlessly carried on virtually even during the pandemic.
