Shrewsbury International School continues to set the benchmark for academic excellence in Thailand, with another outstanding set of GCSE grades adding to a record-breaking set of A Level results for 2017.
Mr. Steve Allen, Vice Principal (Head of Senior) says, “This is another wonderful set of results that reflects and rewards an incredible amount of hard work and dedication from the students and their teachers. Extraordinary A-level results have again earned places at top universities all over the world, underlining the value of the unparalleled support that we give to our students. It is no surprise that more students than ever have chosen to join our Sixth Form programme this year to give themselves the same opportunities.”
Mr. Allen continues, “The GCSE results are also a fantastic achievement in their own right for our Year 12 class, and I’m really encouraged by the contributions from every department towards their success. Shrewsbury has an established reputation in the Sciences, Maths and Art for example, but this year our Languages really shine through. There were 71% A* grades in Spanish, and 97% A* grades in Mandarin Chinese, where 20 students didn’t drop a single mark. Three quarters of our entire GCSE cohort also took the English First Language exam this year, 67% passing with A* or A grade; an incredible number for an international school where English is not typically the language spoken at home. These are the qualifications that continue to equip Shrewsbury students for global success, and on behalf of everyone in our community, I wish them my warmest congratulations”.
