Of the St. John’s Grade 12 students registered for the full IB Diploma Programme, 95,1% successfully completed the exams, while obtaining an average score of 34.8. (The average international pass rate is 79,3% and the global average score is 30.)
Our top scorer obtained 44 points, which counts in the top 1% of all candidates worldwide. An impressive 78% of students obtained a score of 30 points or more, 49% scored 36 points or more (compared with a world IB average of around 22%) and a stunning 22% scored 40 points or higher (compared to a world average of about 9%).
Of the candidates, 32% pursued a bilingual diploma with a 100% success rate.
In accordance with its philosophy and mission statement, St. John’s does not practice selective admissions. We believe in giving a very diverse student body the opportunity for a great education. Despite not being academically selective, St. John’s is known for its consistently high IB scores and this year is no exception.
We would like to congratulate our Grade 12 students, who will be moving on to excellent institutions of Higher Education. We thank our students for their hard work, the grade 12 parents for their support, and our teachers for their dedication, guidance and individual care for each of the students.
