SSIS Middle School’s production of Something Rotten Jr. was a fun and entertaining show that highlighted the students’ hard work and enthusiasm.
Something Rotten Jr. dazzled audiences with its toe-tapping songs, clever nods to classical theater, and a hilarious storyline set in the days of Shakespeare. The musical takes the audience on a comical journey as two writers go to outrageous lengths to outshine the Bard himself, delivering a whirlwind of laughs and unforgettable moments.
Featuring over 45 students from grades 6-8 in the cast, along with 15 students in design and costume, 18 students in the tech crew, 5 students in makeup, and 2 students each as assistant directors and choreographers, the collaborative effort was truly impressive. The production boasted vibrant set designs and energetic choreography that brought the Renaissance to life.
Director Ms. Jill Beam shared her thoughts, saying, “This incredible group of performers has brought a whole new energy to the SSIS stage.
