Sports Day At Smiling International School

The Sports Day at Smiling International School took place between the end of May and the beginning of June, becoming a highly anticipated event for the entire community.

Every student was eager to join their House and compete in various sports and activities to earn valuable points and claim the coveted trophy!

House System and Point Collection

At the start of the school year, each student at Smiling International takes part in a special ceremony during which they are sorted into one of four Houses: Quicksilvers, Acrobats, Druids, or Brave Hearts. Each House is represented by a color and a logo, helping students feel included in our community and inspiring them to take an active role in school life while promoting positive behavior.

Throughout the year, students can earn points for their Houses by participating in a variety of activities. These efforts are recognized and rewarded during our school assemblies with prizes and celebrations.

This year, to make Sports Day even more fun and vibrant, we provided each House with T-shirts showcasing their logos and colors. It was wonderful to see groups of students and parents—brightly dressed in red, green, blue, and yellow—cheering, playing, and competing together.

A Day Full of Sport and Fun

We always plan a rich and diverse program to ensure that everyone has the chance to participate and challenge themselves in many different ways. After a group dance warm-up in the morning, students competed in various class games such as volleyball, dodgeball, cross-country races, a Treasure Hunt, Tic Tac Toe, and Flag. They also took part in fun races like the Wheelbarrow Race, Egg & Spoon Race, Coloured Water Race, and Three-Legged Race, as well as Table Tennis, Foosball, and Calcetto (table football) Tournaments.

In the afternoon, the excitement continued as parents joined us for lunch and even participated in races with their children—earning more points for their Houses and sharing in the fun!

A Celebration for the Whole Community

We organize two separate Sports Days based on student age groups. The Early Years students have their own special day in the campus garden, filled with games, family time, and ending with races and a festive piñata. The excitement peaks as they go home with hats and bags full of candy!

Meanwhile, students from Early Years Butterflies, Primary, Middle, and High School share a joint event, creating meaningful memories and strengthening the sense of belonging across all age groups.

Sports Day is a chance for our school to open its doors to families and the wider community—to showcase our daily life and values, and to share cultures, experiences, and emotions through games, food, and time spent together.

And the Winner Is…

As tradition goes, Sports Day marks the grand finale of our House competition. The House that earns the most points throughout the year wins the prestigious trophy!

After several years of Quicksilvers dominating the podium, 2025 was the year of the Druids! The blue team celebrated their long-awaited victory with laughter, cheers, and joyful jumps. It was a proud and unforgettable moment.

Of course, we also handed out a few “consolation prizes”, because we believe it’s important to teach our students not only how to win or lose, but also how to celebrate success together.

Run, Cheer and Play… This is Smiling Sports Day!
