Smiling Stepping Stones is an interdisciplinary programme designed specifically for the Primary School. The projects address pressing global topics—environmental, cultural, and social—through hands-on learning experiences, aiming to stimulate students’ curiosity while fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness.
“We are very proud to present this unique programme,” said the faculty, “designed to broaden our students’ horizons and make them more active citizens with a sense of integrity.”

A Celebration of Human Progress
On May 16th, 2025, Smiling International School hosted the annual Stepping Stones Fair, an immersive educational fair that showcased the students’ interpretation. The event transformed the school into a living museum of history, technology, and imagination.
A Journey Through the Ages
Under the title “A Journey Through Human Progress”, students across Early Years, Primary, and Middle School presented a wide range of projects from primitive tools to space exploration.
Early Years: Space Training Centre
The youngest learners embarked on a cosmic adventure in their Space Training Centre.
- Happy Hedgehogs operated a Space Laboratory, simulating scientific experiments with awe and enthusiasm.
- Busy Bees engaged guests in a Flight Simulator Area, giving a tactile sense of aviation basics.
- Cool Caterpillars ran a Launch Testing Area, where curiosity took the form of engineering challenges.
- Butterflies guided participants through Astronaut Missions & a Planet Quiz, blending fun with celestial knowledge.
Dressed in vibrant space suits and surrounded by handmade rockets and planetary models, the Early Years students charmed visitors with their energy and confidence.
Primary School: Humanity’s Social Evolution
Each grade focused on a thematic exploration of humanity’s interaction with the world:
- 1st Grade highlighted environmental responsibility with projects on Recycling.
- 2nd Grade explored social development through Play.
- 3rd Grade tackled the importance of Diversity within societies.
- 4th Grade took a broad view with Man and the World, reflecting on our place on the planet.
- 5th Grade concluded with an examination of Man and Communication, featuring interactive displays on languages, symbols, and media.
Classrooms and corridors came alive with murals, models, interviews, and performances that demonstrated both empathy and intellect.
Middle School: Technology and Transformation
Middle School students investigated the profound influence of technological innovation across eras:
- 6th Grade traced developments From the Wheel to Artificial Intelligence, linking early inventions with future possibilities.
- 7th Grade examined Technology’s Impact on Relationships, Emotions, and Society, raising critical reflections on our digital lives.
- 8th Grade presented Global Progress: From Earth to the Moon… and Beyond!, bridging scientific progress with dreams of space colonization.
Their exhibits offered a mix of research, interviews, digital presentations, and scale models, underscoring the students’ analytical maturity and collaborative spirit.
All School: The Moonshot! Exhibition
At the heart of the atrium stood the event’s unifying exhibit: MOONSHOT!. this installation celebrated the boldest leaps in creativity and innovation. Models of lunar bases, interactive AI prototypes, and conceptual designs for future living invited guests to imagine what might come next in humanity’s story.
Celebrating Vision and Community
Stepping Stones 2025 was more than just a fair — it was a community celebration – parents, teachers, and visitors left inspired by the students’ passion.
The slogan of the event was:
“Every great journey begins with a single step & the courage to imagine what’s beyond.”
