Dear Parents and Friends,
It was a real honour to be invited to speak at the Kindergarten festival earlier this month. It proved a wonderful opportunity to engage with families actively searching for the best possible setting for their children. It also gave me the chance to reflect upon the enormous impact pre-primary education has on childhood development and well-being.
At Shrewsbury, we affiliate with the Early Years and Foundation Stage framework – an integrated programme of learning and care, founded upon a series of significant developmental markers. Providing clear focus for provision through a structure of Prime and Specific areas of learning, it places emotional development at its very core.
Our learning spaces have been carefully considered to support the emotional, social and academic development of every child. Nursery and Reception classrooms are placed upon a dedicated pre-primary floor of our purpose built facility. This ensures fluidity of movement and an incredible opportunity to engage with a wide range of peers, while specialist teaching staff encourage, advise and prompt reflection. We are committed to the development of healthy, happy learners who are engaged, motivated and able to think both creatively and critically.
To find out more about our plans for pre-primary, please do feel free to drop in to our Admissions Office on the 7th Floor of Bangkok Bank Building on Des Voeux Road Central. We are open between 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday – early contact is advised.
I look forward to seeing you soon,
Principal, Ben Keeling
