This summer, SSIS made significant changes to our campus to enhance the learning environment for students and faculty. Many learning spaces have been refreshed, creating excitement as we prepare for the new school year. With upgrades in key areas like the theater and secondary gym, along with improvements to public spaces and facilities, the newly renovated campus is ready to welcome everyone back with a fresh look.
Acoustics, Lights, Stage technology and Gym Revamp
A standout feature of this renovation is the complete upgrade of the theater. The original wooden stage floor has been replaced with a premium black professional dance floor, meeting the highest standards for safety, grip, and performance. This high-end flooring enhances both aesthetics and functionality, providing performers with exceptional support. Additionally, the stage lighting has been upgraded to an intelligent LED system with dynamic programming capabilities, while the sound system now features a state-of-the-art line array configuration, delivering crystal-clear, immersive audio throughout the entire theater. Every seat now enjoys studio-quality acoustics, elevating the overall production value of every performance.
Following last year’s successful upgrade of the elementary gym floor, the secondary gymnasium has also received a complete floor revamp this year. The previous surface has been replaced with a new material that enhances safety and comfort, improving anti-slip and shock-absorbing qualities for physical activities and events. This provides a reliable foundation for students’ sports activities moving forward.
Cultural Integration: Blending Local and International Elements
The renovation has also integrated cultural elements, particularly in the foyer, where features inspired by Suzhou gardens create a connection between global campus life and local aesthetics. These design details allow students and faculty to feel immersed in regional culture upon entering the campus.
The swimming pool area also reflects the school’s cultural values through a cohesive visual design. Enhancements include the addition of a parents’ leisure area and a space to showcase athletes’ achievements, turning the sports venue into a dynamic representation of the campus spirit.
Thoughtful Upgrades for Daily Life
Additionally, several thoughtful upgrades have been implemented to enhance daily life on campus. Improvements include renovations to the elementary school restrooms, upgrades to classroom windows, enhancements to corridor ceilings, and updates to seating areas in hallways, as well as waterproofing repairs. These new or renovated spaces provide added convenience and comfort for everyone.
