Our senior economics team displayed their expertise in monetary policy to win the prestigious 2017 European Central Bank (ECB) Generation Euro competition. Out of 153 international schools who participated in the first round, 20 in the second and 5 in the final, the St. John’steam (Akari, Casper, Brendan, Justin and Nicholas) was selected as the winner – an amazing achievement.
As the ECB commented: “Team “Mario’s Dragons” from St. John’s International School in Waterloo (Belgium) convinced the jury with their originality by combining a solid knowledge of monetary policy and economics with a creative vision in a theatre play.”
The team was honored at ECB headquarters in Frankfurt over the Easter break by ECB President Mario Draghi. Many congratulations to the senior economics team and to Mrs. D’Agostino on this extraordinary success!
