Celebrate the 19th SSIS International Family Day

June 1st marked not only the joyous occasion of Children’s Day, but also the kickoff of SSIS’s 19th annual International Family Day celebration. At this day, the SSIS campus was transformed into a vibrant, multicultural hub, as over 4,000 students, teachers, parents, exhibitors, and friends from around the world to celebrate the festive.

The day began with an impressive Taiko performance that stunned the audience, the thunderous drums instantly igniting the atmosphere. This was followed by an international parade, with participants from 52 countries and regions. The energy was electric as our community came together adorned in traditional dress, sports jerseys, and lion dancing, marching proudly under their national flags.

Sophia from Spain shared:“It’s a great experience to have everybody together from many different countries and to feel like we are one world and we are all together and we are experiencing and enjoying each other’s cultures.”

The event also had food booths from 24 different countries and regions. This provided a wide variety of delicious foods for people to try. There were desserts and main dishes, and each one had unique and exciting flavors that made the people who attended really enjoy the food.

In addition to the culinary delights, the event offered a variety of interactive games, vendors, and dynamic performances. These activities not only added joy and fun to the international family day, but also allowed participants to deepen their understanding and respect for different cultures.

Charity has always been an important part of SSIS International Family Day. The event’s organizer, SSIS PSP (Parent school partership), donated proceeds from ticket sales, the food booths, vendors, and country baskte silent auction to the SSIS Charity Committee. In total, the event raised 120,000 yuan, which will be used to support those in need.

Finally, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers and participants who worked tirelessly to make this event a success. On this day, our international community was shown in a lively and diverse way, and you could really feel the warmth and friendship among the people who attended.
