Your Guide to the Best German Schools

The German Abitur is a qualification granted at the end of secondary education in German Schools. It is conferred on students who pass their final exams at the end of ISCED 3, usually after twelve or thirteen years of schooling.

Recognition
As a matriculation examination, Abitur can be compared to A levels, the Matura or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which are all ranked as level 4 in the European Qualifications Framework.

How to choose a German School?
The first thing to look for is accreditation by the German Ministry of Education. When a school is authorised you can be assured that it meets the high standards of the German Curriculum worldwide. When choosing a German school it might be useful to check its results for the last academic years and compare them to the global average score, and the average grade.
