How much does it cost to go to Lancaster Mennonite School?

Day school tuition

Grades PreK-5th: $ 10,675/ Year USD for 4 or 5 days PreK & Kindergarten; 5 full day the rest 1st-4th Grade (Elementary); Grades 5-8 (Middle School): $ 11,900 /Yr USD; Domestic Grades (High School) 9-12: $ 12,700 USD; International : $ 27,000 /yr USD plus Boarding fees // Some students may have additional fees. LM partners with FACTS Management Company to help us manage our tuition payment program. Families set-up their payment method and pay tuition and fees online through this portal.

Boarding school tuition

Students can choose from two different Residential Programs at the Lancaster Campus for domestic boarding at the Millstream Residence Hall: Four nights + all meals – leave friday night, return Monday morning. International students may choose this option if they have a guardian in the area or if an agency is arranging for a weekend homestay. Seven nights + all meals The cost for boarding is in addition to the cost for tuition and other fees.

Academics

As a comprehensive, holistic private school, LM helps students of diverse abilities and interests be all they can be. The student body includes students with academic difficulties as well as Merit Scholars; it includes those who want to work with their hands as well as those who aspire to work toward professional careers. We are proud to offer an expansive offering of STEAM classes and opportunities integrated within our curriculum at all grade levels.

PreK - Action-based learning stations, free play, guided play, and structured lessons help students develop social-emotional and academic skills, laying the foundation for future school success.

Kindergarten - LM’s full-day Kindergarten balances an academically rigorous literacy and math program with built-in time for play-based learning and imaginative play.

Elementary - Elementary students (K - 4th grade) build strong academic and social skills within a restorative justice framework that nurtures the whole child in a caring community.

Middle School - Built around driving questions and project-based learning, middle school students (5th - 8th grade) follow an integrated curriculum that develops creative collaborators, communicators and critical thinkers.

High School - In addition to excellent academic and social opportunities, LM high school students (9th - 12th grade) consistently win regional and national awards in art, music, writing, FFA, athletics, and other competitions. They have the opportuntiies to take up to 28 AP & Honors courses as well as dual enrollment college coureses or our Advanced Music Program.

SAT SCORES CONSISTENTLY 140 POINTS ABOVE THE NATIONAL AVERAGE
LM’s academic excellence is evidenced by our 100% college acceptance rate, 99% pass rate of Advanced Placement exams, SAT scores 140 points above the national average, and significantly higher Advanced Placement test success of LM students versus PA and national averages, according to College Board data. The 5-year trend clearly reflects the growing strength of LM’s academic program that drives increasing AP success while PA and national averages remained unchanged over the years. LM students out-performed PA and National averages by significant margins.

Extra-curricular

Extracurricular opportunities provide additional experiences outside of the traditional classroom to have a well-rounded educational experience, explore giftings, prepare for college and life.

Students have access to outstanding opportunities for classes and clubs during the school day as well as extracurricular activities, such as:

- Drama: The High School and Middle School engages students in drama productions annually. The drama program varies among the grade level in terms of the degree of student involvement and number of productions. High School – Traditionally have one fall play, one winter musical and one spring showcase per year. Middle School – Students perform one theatrical production each year.

- Athletics: Our outstanding interscholastic athletic program develops students socially, spiritually, emotionally and mentally while building the school community. We offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports at our campuses. Having won a number of championships in various sports, LM is known for their outstanding Blazer athletic program. Through rigorous athletic training, students develop skills, team spirit, and character to prepare for success in college. 12 Sports available, include: Cross Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Bowling, Chess, Softball, Baseball, and Track & Field.

- Mini Courses: Students explore local, national, or international opportunities – For students in grades 11 & 12, provide opportunities for students to learn with their peers and teachers and benefit from teachers’ expertise and creativity. Mini-courses are a minimum of three days and may include overnight trips or day trips for those three days. Students may count school-led summer trips as their mini-course prior to their junior or senior years. Mini-courses focus on an academic area and service and occur every two years (spring of even years). Trips this year were to the following places: Mexico, Spain, Jamaica and various places in the United States, like hiking the Appalachian Trail and Grand Canyon and exploring the history of the local area by kayak, to name a few.

Boarding

Our high school Residence Hall boarding provides an opportunity for students to grow socially and spiritually in a community where they care for themselves and each other. In addition to benefiting students who participate in the residence hall program, the program enriches the entire school with an international perspective.

DORM LIVING - RESIDENCE HALL

Millstream Hall is our on-campus dormitory. Our boarding program offers a great opportunity for students to prepare for the increased independence and responsibility of college life, and to share their own unique background and experiences.

Our Residence Hall boarding program a “home away from home” for many students who otherwise would not have been able to attend. Many students comment that our Residence Hall boarding program was among the most significant parts of their time at Lancaster Mennonite, building close friendships with other dormmates.

Millstream Hall can accommodate 67 students. They are a diverse group of students from other areas in the United States, and from other countries such as China, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

Residential students have access to facilities on campus, such as the sports center and library. The dormitory is also within walking distance of several restaurants, shopping, banks, convenience stores, and hair salons.

Four-night and Seven-day Programs

The four-night residence hall program is for those who can spend weekends off-campus with their family or a host family. Room and board are provided during the school week, from Monday after school to Friday at 5 pm. International students may choose this option if they have a guardian in the area or if an agency is arranging for a weekend homestay.

The seven-day residence hall boarding program includes room and board for weekends for those that are from more distant locations. Students are provided with meals and accommodations full time during the school year. The seven-day program does close for Christmas and Summer breaks.

A Director of Residence Life, along with Resident Advisors, provide oversight and program activities for boarding students.
