The Collège and Lycée at Saint-Charles is an ideal blend of historical tradition and time-honored educational best practices mixed with modern innovation that every student needs to thrive. Located in the beautiful town of Porrentruy, Switzerland, the school is situated in the heart of Europe providing a safe, small town feel with easy access to the riches of the Jura area. Saint-Charles welcomes students ages 8-20 into classes of 12 on average. This provides students the individualized attention to reach their full potential under the guidance of teachers who know them personally to care for their social and emotional wellbeing in addition to their academic achievement.
Our bright modern classrooms allow students to access technology to become citizens of tomorrow: connected, informed and adaptable. Students join Saint Charles as private day school students, or as seven-day boarding students housed in our state of the art, comfortable accommodations. Students have the opportunity to participate in on-campus extracurricular activities such as chorus, visual arts, archery, basketball, and swimming or off-campus activities such as skiing, horseback riding, golf, and tennis lessons. Our boarding school students benefit from the caring familial supervision of our staff who ensures their weekends and evenings are a great balance of relaxation and activity.
Saint-Charles follows the Swiss national curriculum for students in Primary and Secondary school and for our High School offers both a Swiss Maturite (French/Bilingual French English) or an IB pathway through our International Baccalaureate Candidacy. Our motto is “Accompagner pour grandir/Supporting Growth” which is both our honor and challenge for each and every student who enters our classrooms.

Going back to my best memory as a student, my favorites include the different journeys in Europe, friendships made on school benches, train trips and the pleasure of discovering new subjects were all milestones that enriched my life as a pupil and high school student.
From my first day, I appreciated the spirit of Saint-Charles which gives the central place to the students. To accompany them, to encourage them and to instruct them are the noble tasks entrusted to teachers.
From his first report card, we noticed that our son's grades were more relevant to potential employers when he applied. Most of the time they offered him the opportunity to do an internship. It was after an internship that he had the chance to get a place to learn
Given that our son notes were in free fall, my husband and I proposed to enroll him at Collège Saint-Charles to finish his 10thHarmos and make the 11thHarmos in its entirety. After a short time he noticed that his notes were coming up and that he was very well followed by the teachers to help him gain confidence.
In school academic learning, is rigorous and not rigid, which makes it a pleasant experience for son. It acquires a large number of skills including, among others, critical thinking adapted to the world of tomorrow. He becomes independent, confident.
The commitment of all the staff ensures my son is immersed in a stimulating, motivating, caring and respectful learning environment. It is with pleasure that I see him leave in the morning at school, happy to find his friends, his teachers because in school academic learning, is rigorous and not rigid
I found the desire to learn and I like the courses as they are given by the teachers. I like activities outside the box. It's not only games but also math, French, English German and science. I like that because we learn differently. The meals in the canteen are fresh and good
School is important to learn for future jobs, I would like to become a paleoanthropologist. I am happy to be at Saint Charles School because it is sensitive to students and brings other people with problems. Before coming, I felt lonely and different, now I have more friends and no one makes fun of me.
As a parent I particularly appreciate the personalized follow-up, the pragmatism and the responsiveness to the different life situations that can occur in a school. We feel supported, seen as partners. Family values such as tolerance and respect for others are valued by Collège St-Charles, which I appreciate enormously
