Global Academic Excellence

Private schools in Geneva are celebrated for their high academic standards. These institutions often follow internationally recognized curricula, such as the International Baccalaureate (IB), which prepares students not just for local but global success. Language and Cultural Immersion

With Geneva’s position at the heart of Europe, private schools in the city are uniquely positioned to offer extensive language learning opportunities. With typically lower student-to-teacher ratios than public schools, private institutions can offer more individual attention, tailored instruction, and support. This personalized approach allows for adaptations to different learning styles and paces, ensuring that each student can thrive academically and personally.

Extracurricular and Enrichment Activities

Extracurricular activities are abundant in Geneva’s private schools, ranging from sports to arts, and from technology clubs to public speaking. These programs are designed to complement academic learning by developing students’ social, leadership, and other life skills. Schools also provide a variety of enrichment programs that encourage students to explore new interests and develop existing talents, contributing to a well-rounded education.

Networking and Future Opportunities

Attending a private school in Geneva can also open doors to prestigious universities and career opportunities worldwide. The alumni networks of these schools often include influential figures and leaders across various industries, providing students with valuable connections that can significantly influence their professional lives.

In conclusion, choosing a private school in Geneva means investing in a child’s future through a comprehensive education that blends academic rigor with a nurturing, culturally rich environment. • This school is amazing!! They have excellent teachers who go above and beyond to help the students achieve the best grades possible. The relatively small number of students per class, makes it so that the teachers can easily help students individually during the class or even after through e-mails or meetings. Programs such as the IB are excellent in preparing seniors on their way to University. The school facilities themselves are top of the line enhancing the students learning abilities in the classroom. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the school, we can sense that the students are happy and enjoy learning. Overall this is a fantastic school!

  • The school offers a large range of extracurricular activities such as sailing which develop kids’ team spirit, or also horse riding, and many more.

  • I am so grateful to CDL for being a place where my kids can feel confident and accepted. CDL is a place where kids don’t have to be afraid to take risks.

  • I’d never been to boarding school before I came to Collège du Léman, but I started to feel really at home as soon as I arrived. The other students were so welcoming, and the houseparents are always there if you have a problem or need someone to talk to. I’ve done ballet and played the violin since I was little, so it was such a nice surprise to discover that my roommate was also into dance and is in the string ensemble – I love having someone to practise within the evenings! We always eat together as a house, and at the weekends it’s really great to have a big family to go on trips with. Sometimes I miss them over summer, but I’m always allowed to spend at least a week or two back with my friends at camp.

  • At Collège du Léman, I really like how much control I have over my own learning. The classes here are much smaller than in my previous school, and my teacher is always available to help me with anything I’m having trouble with, even outside of class. Our subjects are often centred around the same main topic, so I like the feeling that I am continuing on the same theme between different classes. We are given a lot of choice over how we present our projects and do our research, and we can often choose the area of a topic that interests us most. I recently joined the robotics club after doing a Raspberry Pi project in Science, and it’s been so much fun to be able to continue with my own ideas outside of class!

  • When I first arrived at Collège du Léman, I was a little apprehensive about the bilingual nature of the school, as I wasn’t very confident in my French. Very quickly, however, I grew to love having an additional language to express myself in, and now it feels so natural to switch between the two. I’ve just started studying Mandarin, so hopefully, soon I’ll be able to chat in Chinese too! One of the best things about CDL is the teachers. I feel really supported, not just with the language but with every subject. They help you to organise yourself to focus on the areas you need to improve, and they are constantly checking in on us to see how our progress is going.

  • Our children have got off to a great start at GES, and we are so happy with our decision. The school is everything we had hoped for, and more. Friendly, unpretentious, caring and inclusive. The standard of teaching is excellent and no doubt the best our children have had to date. Although small in size, the school offers a good range of after-school activities, and our children have already had a number of fun adventures up in the mountains! Finally, every parent I’ve met so far has spoken highly of the Head and his vision for GES Secondary. I feel we’re in very safe hands here.

  • We are happy to know our son is in the best school, surrounded by highly competent, positive and caring teachers, nice pupils and overall a beautiful environment. I might say that GES is in its own league, no school in Geneva can compete with your program, teachers, facilities and overall environment.
