KIS International School is a private, proprietary, non-profit, nonsectarian school. KIS offers a fully WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges)-accredited PK-12. As a high-performing college preparatory school, we deliver a comprehensive education in humanities, world languages, engineering, arts, math, and science using both traditional and innovative teaching practices, with an emphasis on providing internationally minded applied learning opportunities.KIS opened its doors in 2000 with a handful of students in the Gangnam neighborhood of southern Seoul. A significant development in the life of our school was the opening of our new campus in the Pangyo/Bundang area in August 2006. KIS enrollment has grown each year since its inception. The KIS community celebrated our 1000th graduate in 2018, and we are extremely proud of our innovative, extremely accomplished, and philanthropically motivated alumni who are studying at prestigious universities and working around the world. Our Seoul and Pangyo campuses are both richly resourced to provide state of the art science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) transdisciplinary learning opportunities. KIS also offers winter and summer programs that emphasize experiential learning.

KIS offers a comprehensive, college-preparatory curriculum. The AP program began in 2005-2006 with four classes and has increased to twenty five classes. Web Design, Video Production, Theater, Concert Choir, Psychology, Sociology, Creative Writing, and Contemporary Global Issues are examples of some of our numerous elective classes providing opportunities to experience diversity throughout the curriculum. The KIS elementary curriculum (PK-5) helps children develop the skills and attitudes they will need both at the elementary level and for a lifetime of learning. In addition to academics, the elementary curriculum emphasizes the arts, student activities and athletics to enable students to acquire problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on providing internationally minded applied learning opportunities.True to the principles of our founding, we prepare today’s students for the global challenges of tomorrow through applied learning.
