CIS Celebrates Neurodiversity Week with Creativity and Conversation

From March 17–23, Copenhagen International School proudly celebrated Neurodiversity Week, embracing the idea that our brains all work in unique and wonderful ways. The week served as an opportunity to deepen awareness, promote inclusion, and celebrate the strengths that diverse minds bring to our community.

In the Primary School, students participated in an engaging, age-appropriate presentation that introduced the concept of neurodiversity. The message was simple yet powerful: “All of your beautiful minds think and learn differently.” Learners reflected on this idea through the words of Albert Einstein: “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

To visually express their understanding, Primary students created vibrant posters celebrating neurodiversity, many of which were displayed around the school to spark conversation and curiosity.

Meanwhile, Secondary School students took part in advisory sessions focused on recognizing and valuing different ways of thinking and learning. These discussions reinforced the importance of empathy, inclusion, and support for all.

Neurodiversity Week was a meaningful reminder that at CIS, we celebrate every learner and the unique strengths they bring. Together, we continue to build a community where everyone is seen, supported, and valued.
