Why families choose a British school in Vaud?

When it comes to selecting an educational path for their children, many families in Vaud opt for British schools due to their distinguished blend of tradition and innovation. These schools are renowned for providing rigorous academic standards and a broad, balanced curriculum, which is particularly appealing to parents focused on holistic development. The British education system emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, qualities that are highly valued in today’s globalized world.

Global Recognition

One of the primary reasons families gravitate towards British schools in Vaud is the global recognition of the qualifications offered, such as the GCSEs and A-Levels. These qualifications are widely respected by universities and employers worldwide, providing students with a plethora of opportunities for higher education and careers internationally. This aspect is incredibly beneficial for expat families who might move back to their home country or to another foreign nation, ensuring their child’s education is recognized and valued universally.

Cultural Diversity

British schools in Vaud celebrate an inclusive and diverse environment, mirroring the multicultural fabric of the region itself. Students here are exposed to a variety of cultures and perspectives, which enriches their educational experience and fosters a better understanding of the world. This cultural diversity also helps in developing open-mindedness and respect for different viewpoints, preparing students to thrive in any corner of the globe.

English Language Mastery

As English is the primary medium of instruction, students gain mastery over the language, which is a significant advantage in the professional world where English often serves as the lingua franca. This is particularly advantageous for non-native speakers, offering them an environment to enhance their language skills in both academic and conversational contexts. Furthermore, fluency in English opens doors to a wealth of resources for learning, communication, and business worldwide.

Extracurricular Enrichment

Beyond academics, British schools in Vaud place a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities that contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals. From sports to arts and social service, these activities encourage students to pursue their interests and passions, which is vital for personal growth and self-discovery. Such opportunities also teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Ultimately, choosing a British school in Vaud means investing in an education system that not only promises academic excellence but also cultivates a supportive and stimulating environment where children can develop their individual talents and prepare for global challenges. This comprehensive approach to education is what makes British schools a preferred choice for families in Vaud.

  • It’s time to say goodbye and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone!!! The teachers didn’t just educate our kids. You all taught them the importance of education. We are grateful to you. You were kind, patient and considerate, but played the stickler when you needed to. You have played a key role in moulding our children into good human beings and they will miss so much about LCIS. Thanks a lot for your support. All the best and Auf Wiedersehen

  • Dear Teacher Silvio and Guillaume,

Saki is now back home, telling us many stories. Although we could catch some at web photos, we our family feel endorsed thankfully enough by listening her experiences as well as new vocabulary. We appreciate your hospitality and also hope to stay in touch.

  • Greetings Everyone,

I hope “la rentrée” all happened well and that the weather is still beautiful in Villars.

This is just a quick note to thank you so so much for all the great care and fun you gave Yilan this summer. She had a fabulous time and told us she would like to go back next summer and/or in a few years as a “monitrice.” Job well-done ! Thank you very much 🙂

BTW my apologies for a tardy reply but I did not write to you earlier because I figured you were enjoying a good break in August and then I did not want to bother you during the start of classes.

To give you a bit of other news, she started her new school last week and she seems very happy. She is in French 3 which is typically for eleventh graders but she is a ninth grader. She tells us they all have such a bad accent “it hurts her ears..” I found that funny. Apparently French spoken badly sounds worse than Chinese spoken badly… “Ouf “… 🙂

    Thank you again so much.
    All the very best
