1. Who we are
World Schools (the “Service”) is operated by World Schools, Route de la Bernadaz 5A, 1094 Paudex, Switzerland. Contact: info@world-schools.com.
2. What we do
World Schools is a directory and content platform to help families discover schools. Users may submit enquiry forms which we forward to selected schools by email. We are not a school and we do not guarantee admission or outcomes. Information on the site may come from schools or third parties.
3. Eligibility
You must be 13 years or older to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your location, you must have a parent/guardian’s consent. We do not knowingly allow under‑13s to create accounts.
4. Your account and deletion
Some features may require an account. You’re responsible for keeping credentials secure and for activity under your account. You may request deletion at any time at https://world-schools.com/dashboard/delete-account/. Unless we are legally required to retain certain records, your account will be scheduled for deletion with a 30‑day grace period. During that period you may undo the request via the link we email you. Backups are purged within 30 days after deletion completes.
5. Enquiries to schools
When you submit an enquiry form, we transmit it to the school you selected. From that point, the school acts as an independent data controller for that enquiry and may contact you directly by email or phone. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, your communications with a school.
6. Reviews and user content
You may post reviews without creating an account. We require respectful, lawful content and prohibit hateful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing material. Reviews are human‑moderated and generally reviewed within 7 days. We may edit for format (e.g., to remove personal data), refuse, or remove content at our discretion. You grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to host, reproduce, display, and promote your reviews solely to operate and promote the Service. You can request removal at any time by emailing info@world-schools.com.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) break the law; (b) infringe IP or privacy rights; (c) harass, abuse, or discriminate; (d) upload malware; (e) attempt to bypass security or access non‑public areas; (f) scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk export the directory or content without our written permission; (g) use the Service to send unsolicited messages.
8. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Service and its content, including text, graphics, and trademarks. Schools retain ownership of their logos and media but grant us the necessary license to host, reproduce, crop/resize, and display them on the Service and our marketing channels. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact info@world-schools.com and we’ll review promptly.
9. Third‑party links and services
The Service may link to third‑party sites or services (including schools). We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or policies.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement. We don’t guarantee the accuracy of school information, availability of places, or any outcomes.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Changes to the Service
We may modify or discontinue features at any time. Where changes materially affect users, we will provide reasonable notice.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or for operational, security, or legal reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion as described above.
14. Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non‑contractual) are governed by Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the courts of the Canton of Vaud, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where applicable.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide 14 days’ notice (e.g., banner or email) before the new terms take effect. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
