Regarding the documentation, every student must have their medical form signed and stamped by a pediatrician/ pathologist. The medical form must be up to date every year. In addition, properly labeled medication is kept in the nurse’s office ready to be used if deemed necessary in the event of any medical needs, e.g. allergies, and a year ago, we equipped our school with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). Furthermore, we keep a record of the daily incidents- accidents. The electronic system that we use allows us to share important information with SLT members, in order to provide our students with the maximum support in every issue. Lastly, we aim to keep our students healthy and educate them through health projects which concern all the Key Stages, regarding the needs of every year group. We have a fully equipped Nurse's office and a nurse on duty at all times students are present on site. The nurse is responsible for all medical records, for administering any prescribed drugs and for dealing with medical emergencies. Safety is a priority at Byron College with tight security at the gate and all teachers and visitors are obliged to wear identification lanards. Our facilities manager and school caretakers are responsible for maintaining the site and grounds that comply with all safety regulations. Both the British and US Embassy security staff inspect the site regularly to ensure that our security meets their high standards.
