BFIS offers a differentiated American curriculum from Nursery to Grade 10 and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program in Grades 11 and 12. We are a truly international school in Barcelona with a roughly one-third breakdown among US, International and Spanish families. Our diverse and engaged student body, faculty, and parent community-now comprised over 50 different nationalities and cultural heritages. is the heart and soul of our school.

BFIS pass rates and average scores in the IBDP are always significantly above the national and world averages. At BFIS we believe that academics are not the only component of a well-rounded education. Extracurricular activities also play an important role with a positive impact on student success. We also offer students opportunities to take on leadership roles to challenge themselves and gain valuable skills in leadership and collaboration, which will serve them well at university and beyond. Our extracurricular programs offers different activities in the fields of performing arts (theater, musical theater, choir, instrumental lessons), sports (swimming, taekwondo, tennis, mini-tennis, fencing, in-line skating), team sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer), arts and academics (just art! game design, cooking, gardening, math club, chess) and other leadership programs such us debating club, Junior Achievement, National Honors Society, Ambassadors Club, Student Council, etc.
