I moved to Switzerland two years ago to join ISSH and its boarding community, and I can definitely say that it is one of the best decisions I have made. The school is pretty diverse itself, but being a member of the boarding community allowed me to live with people from around the world.
With the boarding, we go on trips, and these trips are not only entertaining but also educational. We go to historical places and natural wonders, for example, the mountains in the Glarus canton. So that we can have a better look at the world that we live in, I must say that these trips taught me a deeper appreciation for different cultures and places.
Also, I enjoy hiking in Switzerland because of its great nature. It is a great opportunity for me to be able to see these natural wonders up close and personal. Other than hiking, there are also many activities that I like to do in the town, such as going to the plays in the Stadttheater Schaffhausen.
My experience living away from home has also taught me important life skills like independence, time management, and responsibility. The skills that I have acquired will definitely be helpful to me in the future when I encounter problems.

Two years ago, I decided to study in a high school where it offers a worldwide recognized curriculum. Therefore, I have searched for IB International schools all over the world. However, when I saw ISSH, I knew that it would be a great fit for me because of its boarding program and location.
Schaffhausen is an amazing place to live in. When I first arrived in Switzerland, the natural beauty blew my mind. It is so fascinating to see hiking trails everywhere. As a person who loves to explore nature, I try to take this advantage to its fullest degree. On the weekends, I love to explore small Swiss towns and also walk on different hiking trails.
The transportation system in Switzerland is very safe and convenient, which enabled me to discover other parts of the country. The location of Schaffhausen is also great because it is very close to two big cities, Zurich and Basel. I can easily spend my weekends exploring these incredible places. In terms of location, I also discovered other European countries, given that Switzerland has borders with Austria, Germany, France, and Italy.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to attend ISSH. From the IB Diploma programme to the boarding community, everything about my experience here has been amazing. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
