Academics
Along with the English National Curriculum, IGCSE and IB Diploma Program, our students learn Portuguese and Brazilian history, culture and geography. The British College of Brazil offers double certification. By obtaining the Brazilian diploma, students are allowed to continue their studies in Brazil, as the school is fully certified by the Ministry of Education.
Small class sizes allow teachers to focus on the individual needs of each pupil. All teachers have outstanding professional credentials from the UK with relevant experience in delivering the English National Curriculum followed by the IGCSE in YEar 10 – 11 and the IB Diploma Program in Year 12. English speaking assistant teachers support all Primary classes.
Top of the school’s priorities is the personal development of its students. Independence, teamwork and leadership, self-discipline, presence, awareness, tolerance, courage and determination are key attributes that students develop at the school.
We blend the English National Curriculum with the very best international curricula to offer the best possible education for your child. We follow the English National Curriculum from Pre Nursery (aged 2) up to Year 9 (aged 13). In Years 10 and 11 we follow the well regarded IGCSE program and in Year 12 and Year 13 we will follow the Diploma Program (IB). Because our school is based in Brazil, we also believe it is important to deliver the local Brazilian National Curriculum in order for all our students to better understand Brazilian culture and heritage.
