Raffles American School (RAS) is a WASC-accredited, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 day and boarding school on a 46-acre purpose-built campus in Johor, Malaysia. We deliver a rigorous American curriculum enriched with Advanced Placement coursework, taught by a diverse international faculty to a multicultural student body. Our mission is to empower students to achieve their academic and life potential through small class sizes, a learning-outcomes approach that honors multiple paths to learning, and a balanced focus on intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. From science labs and an Olympic-size swimming pool to an 800-seat auditorium and Southeast Asia’s only K-12 school planetarium, RAS gives students the facilities and support — including Learning Support, English Language Learning, and college counseling — to think critically, lead responsibly, and act as compassionate global citizens.

RAS offers a comprehensive American curriculum from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, built around four General Learning Outcomes — Critical Thinking, Organization, Communication, and Character. Secondary students pursue Advanced Placement (AP) coursework, with standardized test preparation (SAT, PSAT, TOEFL, IELTS) and personalized college planning. Learning Support and English Language Learning (ELL) specialists work alongside classroom teachers, and the College Counseling Program (Grades 9–12) guides students through university applications worldwide.

Raffles American School Boarding provides a secure, vibrant home where academic excellence meets genuine pastoral warmth. As an award-winning boarding school guided and mentored by internationally Accredited Boarding Practitioners, we deliver world-class pastoral care across dedicated Junior and Senior Boarding wings. This purposeful structure nurtures younger boarders with attentive, age-appropriate guidance while fostering the independence, resilience, and focus our seniors need to excel in university and beyond. At Raffles American School Boarding, our mission is simple: We Make Boarders’ Lives Better.

Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) run Monday–Thursday 3:15–4:15 p.m. and Friday 1:30–2:30 p.m., across three seasons each year, alongside a four-house spirit system. Students take on leadership through Student Council, the National Honor Society, House Captains, and CCA Club Leadership. Varsity teams compete regionally across Malaysia and Southeast Asia in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Badminton, Swimming, and Table Tennis, with additional Tennis and Golf Academies. DreamLab, RAS's fee-based after-school center, offers English coaching, Math Olympiad training, and college-planning support.

RAS's 46-acre (19-hectare) campus includes technology-integrated classrooms, science labs, visual art, dance, and performing-arts studios, and Southeast Asia's only K-12 school planetarium. Performing arts have an 800-seat auditorium and a black box theater. Athletics facilities include two indoor air-conditioned gymnasiums, an Olympic-size swimming pool with a separate training pool, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, a soccer field, and a stadium with a second soccer field, track and field, and a 400-meter running track.
