Overview
Since September 2021, EIB Grenelle currently welcomes children from Petite Section (Nursery) to CM2 (Grade 5) and follows the French Ministry of National Education’s official programmes. What makes our school unique is that from preschool on, half of the classes are taught in English. This translates into three extra hours of teaching per week compared with a traditional State school or a State-contracted school. This means that our students have classes every day of the week, including Wednesday mornings. At EIB Grenelle our aim is to create a family atmosphere, where children feel supported and confident. Our teaching staff have international experience and are familiar with the unique needs of expatriate families. After completing primary school, students at EIB Grenelle will be able to continue their studies at one of the two middle schools within the EIB Group: EIB Collège Monceau in Parc Monceau in the 8th Arrondissement or EIB de la Jonchère Middle School in the Yvelines region, 30 minutes west of central Paris. With 60 years of experience, our family of schools including EIB de la Jonchère, EIB Monceau Primaire, EIB Monceau Collège, EIB Lamartine and EIB Etoile, are renowned for their academic excellence (100% success rate for the French baccalaureate, including 96% with honours, and 100% success rate and honours for the Brevet des collèges).
Academics
Our educational project: the French academic curriculum with half of the classes in English. In today’s world, where translation platforms are multiplying, knowing how to read, write and count is no longer enough. We must now be able to develop our psychosocial skills in terms of openness and tolerance. As a result, our educational project is based on multilingualism, with English and French taught equally, with Chinese taught two hours a week (beginning in CE2/Grade 3). Our teaching team, which consists of native teachers, is committed to meeting the individual needs of each student and providing tailored instruction using varied and complementary teaching methods. At the end of their academic experience, our students will become global citizens, who can communicate, understand the world, and take on current and future challenges.
