Academics
The Bedford Curriculum, extending well beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum, is structured to provide a balanced and varied choice of subjects, which will cater towards the individual boy’s strengths. We challenge our boys to develop their intellectual curiosity, to ask questions, to broaden their knowledge and intellect, and to be aware of the world beyond the school. We support them in their endeavour to develop informed opinions and independent minds; whilst also equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to realise their personal ambitions and aspirations. Each boy is encouraged to add value to their academic credentials during their time with us and, to this end, we consistently encourage them to exceed their expectations.
Extra curricular
The arts thrive at Bedford School and boys can get involved in a full and varied programme of Music, Art and Drama. In sport, boys are encouraged to take an interest, whatever their level of ability, for the self-motivation, camaraderie and teamwork it encourages and develops. Boys can also take part in a wide range of creative, sporting, academic and general interest extracurricular clubs and activities. We actively encourage all boys to participate in a new activity each term when they join us.
