The Ministry of Education determines the school holidays in Kenya, which are divided into three terms. Primary and secondary schools and colleges across the country follow the holiday and term dates released by the MOE. The academic year in Kenya starts in January and ends in late October or early November, just before the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams are held.
