Mastering Ceramics with Jirawong Wongantran at BISP

From 6 to 10 January, BISP was delighted to host Jirawong Wongantran, a renowned ceramic artist from Chiang Mai and founder of Inclay Studio. Since 2008, Jirawong has been creating beautiful ceramic art inspired by nature, the colours of local clay, and his surroundings. Known for his functional ceramics in organic forms with earth-tone glazes, his work invites connection through its thoughtful use.

During his visit, Jirawong worked closely with our IB students, sharing his passion for ceramics and guiding them through the fascinating processes of clay preparation, creation, glazing, and firing. He emphasised expressing thoughts and creativity through clay, helping students refine their skills on the pottery wheel and realise their artistic visions for their coursework.

The week was an inspiring and enriching experience for everyone involved, resulting in a variety of impressive student creations.
