Choosing a school is a big decision, and there is only so much you can learn from a website or prospectus. An Open Day gives you the opportunity to experience The British International School (BIS) Abu Dhabi for yourself, meet our team and gain a deeper understanding of what your child’s school journey could look like.
What Can Parents Expect at an Open Day?
Meet Our Senior Leadership Team
Our Open Day begins with a welcome from members of our senior leadership team, who will introduce BIS Abu Dhabi and provide an overview of our school community.
You will gain insight into life at BIS Abu Dhabi and discover how we help students grow in confidence, develop their interests and make the most of their time at school, from the Early Years through to the senior years.
Discover Our Curriculum
At BIS Abu Dhabi, we offer a comprehensive blend of the English National Curriculum, IGCSEs, BTEC International Level 3 pathways and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). As students progress from ages 3 to 18, they benefit from a range of academic pathways designed to support their strengths, interests and future aspirations.
During the presentation, you will learn how our curriculum develops through each stage of learning and prepares students for their next steps. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about subjects, teaching approaches, assessment and future pathways.
Explore Our School
Following the presentation, you will be invited to explore the BIS Abu Dhabi campus on a guided tour led by our Admissions Team.
This is your chance to experience our learning environments and facilities first-hand, meet members of our community and gain a feel for the school your child could become part of. There will also be opportunities to ask questions throughout the tour.

- How are parents kept informed about their child’s progress?
About School Life
- What does a typical school day look like?
- What activities are available outside the classroom?
- How do students make friends and become part of the school community?
- How do you support students as they move between year groups and school phases?
About Your Child’s Next Steps
- What does the transition into this year group look like?
- How do opportunities evolve as students progress through the school?
- What pathways are available for students in the senior years?

You can also use the tour to ask practical questions about transport, school meals, after-school activities and the admissions process.
