This year, students from Leysin American School in Switzerland attended the Youth Forum Switzerland (YFS), hosted by the International School of Zug and Luzern. Founded in 2017 by a group of globally engaged high school students inspired by the World Economic Forum’s Open Forum in Davos, YFS aims to highlight the voices of young people on issues shaping their future. The forum continues to function as a platform for youth to engage with influential leaders and global changemakers.
LAS students joined peers from around the world to discuss interesting topics, exchange ideas, and broaden their perspectives on global issues. Keynote speakers included Scott Weber, President and CEO of Peaceinvest, and Clement Agoni, a renowned economist and computer modeler. Their industry knowledge and experience of fostering peace through finance and using technology for economic advancement left an impactful impression on our students, offering real-world applications to concepts learned in the classroom.
This experiential learning opportunity provided an invaluable experience for LAS business management and entrepreneurship students to take part in meaningful discussions and network with like-minded peers and professionals. This experience allowed students to learn through hands-on discussions, reinforcing classroom learning and giving them a deeper understanding of global business and leadership.
The trip was incredibly impactful for our students, highlighting the potential of using events like YFS in the LAS curriculum. With plans to use the Babson Changemakers EPIC curriculum in 2025, LAS provides students with cutting-edge opportunities to develop entrepreneurial and innovative skills. We can’t wait for more students to attend this amazing forum next year!
