Virtus, The British Sixth Form College is an innovative Sixth Form College devoted to academic excellence and holistic education. We specialise in A-level with an average of 5 students per class.
The school of the future –
A British school with 80 students split into two year groups (Year 12 and Year 13) with a flexible educational programme that meets the needs of every student. We provide a cutting-edge education that makes use of the best tools from the education sector, an innovative methodology based on active learning and an emphasis on acquiring 21st-century skills and competencies.
Average of 5 students per class, maximum of 9 –
Our educational environment in small groups allows for top quality education, a more solid support network and greater closeness between the teaching staff and students, while allowing us to provide all the tools needed to nurture their individual potential and achieve better results.
The ultimate preparation for university –
Our educational programme ensures there is one-of-a-kind approach towards the strategy, support and enrichment required for university access. We analyse each student’s starting point using vocational tests, design an individual strategy for the two upcoming years and work to meet the milestones set, enriching their profile with the knowledge and competencies required for their particular degree.
A tailor-made environment for Sixth Form students –
Since we specialise in A-level students, our environment is enriched by state-of-the-art facilities, inspiring teachers and a model tailored exclusively for this age cohort. Day by day we cultivate a community with a pre-university aura and endless opportunities for the holistic development of our students.
At Virtus, we work with the International A-Levels (IALs), a variant of the conventional A-Level in which students are officially examined in January and May of Year 12 and Year 13, dividing the examination content into four series instead of one. In addition, each subject is divided into modules (separate components) that allow work around the syllabus in a more structured way.
At Virtus, the Co-Curriculum offer revolves around the Gate-to-Gate model: from the gate of the school to the gate of the university. The Co-Curriculum has two main branches: on the one hand, the Co-Curricular Clubs are a fundamental piece of our pre-university approach, providing students with specific skills and knowledge highly valued by universities, with the aim of delving into an academic field of their interest.
On the other hand, the Stage Space is a programme based on the participation of students in formal debates (raised around cultural and current issues) and the practice of performing arts and theatre.
The Co-Curriculum is the cornerstone for equipping our students with transversal skills that allow them to face the challenges of the 21st-century, such as critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and public speaking. It also offers a global outlook and a broader knowledge of their academic and professional interests.
The Co-Curricular Clubs are a unique opportunity to delve into specific academic fields that are related to the university aspirations of Virtus students. In addition, they represent a great added value to impress universities with projects and tangible experiences during the university application process: Humanities & Media Studies, Business, Finance & Entrepreneurship, Engineering, Maths & Physics, Biomedical Sciences.
