At SSIS, we take great pride in the diversity of our student body, which comprises 1000+ students from more than 50 different nationalities. This rich tapestry of languages, cultures, and experiences greatly contributes to the vibrant and inclusive atmosphere of our school.
One highly anticipated event that captures the spirit of cultural celebration at SSIS is Hangeul Day. This joyous occasion is organized with tremendous enthusiasm by the dedicated parents from the Korean community.

This year, a diverse range of 11 engaging activities were prepared for the students to participate in. These activities were thoughtfully designed to make learning the spellings and writing of Hangeul an enjoyable experience. From craft design to calligraphy writing, each activity offered a unique opportunity for the students to delve into the intricacies of the Korean language. As they decorated their own crafts, such as keyrings, pencil cases, and badges, the students not only learned about Hangeul but also earned personalized Hangeul craft gifts to cherish. Students and teachers were invited to dress in the traditional Hanbok and enjoy the popular competition game called Ttagji.
This event was not just about celebrating Korean culture; it was about recognizing the significance of the mother tongue and the importance of preserving and promoting language diversity.
