Celebrating Community at Hamelin-Laie

Hamelin‑Laie Day brought families together to celebrate learning, creativity, sport and wellbeing. The day reflected the strong sense of belonging that defines our international school community.

On Saturday, 18 April, Hamelin-Laie welcomed families for a vibrant Community Day, a celebration of the diversity, energy, and sense of belonging that define our school.

From the moment they arrived, families experienced a school alive with learning. Students across all ages proudly shared their work, showing how confidence, curiosity, and collaboration grow every day within our international community.

In Early Years, children explored painting, cooking, and imaginative play in a warm, supportive environment. In Primary, learning became an adventure through STEAM challenges, treasure hunts, and multilingual games in English, French, German, and Chinese. In Secondary, students led science demonstrations and creative showcases, offering real insight into how they develop critical thinking, leadership, and prepare for pathways such as the IBDP and National Baccalaureate.

Music, dance, and Juilliard inspired workshops that brought the community together, while sports activities created moments of teamwork across ages and cultures. A collaborative Sant Jordi mural, where families added their favourite Catalan word, captured our identity: rooted in Barcelona and enriched by the world.

More than an event, the day showed what makes Hamelin-Laie unique: a welcoming, diverse community where every child feels seen, valued, and able to thrive.

Meet Monty, our new mascot

Hamelin-Laie Day also introduced Monty the Cat, our new sports mascot. Inspired by Montgat, Monty reflects curiosity, independence, and a love of learning, values we see in our students every day. We look forward to seeing him come to life at sports events and community celebrations very soon!

Giving back together

We held a raffle for a signed basketball jersey from Ricky Rubio. Congratulations to our student from Year 5 who won the jersey! Families came together to support the Ricky Rubio Foundation, raising more than 1,400 € for children’s mental health and wellbeing. A powerful reminder that community at Hamelin-Laie extends beyond our campus.

Thank you to our community
