St. Joseph’s Institution International (SJI International) proudly announces another year of strong achievements from its Class of 2024 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With an average score of 38 points, SJI International’s graduates continue to exceed both the global average of 29.1 points and the regional average for Singapore of 37.76 points, as reported by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for 2023.
This year, all 207 graduates achieved the full IB Diploma, marking a 100% pass rate. Furthermore, 39% of students scored 40 points or more, with 26% achieving 42 points and above, placing SJI International among the top-performing IB schools in the region and globally.
While these results affirm the school’s academic strength, it is the students’ individual journeys that exemplify the holistic and values-driven education at the heart of SJI International.
Singaporean Scholar Triumphs in IB and National Sports Amid Personal Adversity
Among the success stories, Singaporean scholar and national athlete Min Yeo exemplifies resilience and excellence. Scoring an impressive 43 points, Min’s achievements extend beyond academics. As a national team kayaker and recipient of the Best Sportsgirl Award for Canoeing by the Singapore School Sports Council, she has navigated immense personal challenges, including the loss of her mother and her father’s ongoing battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Balancing the demands of the rigorous IB Diploma Programme with her elite sporting commitments, Min’s journey is an inspiring testament to determination and perseverance.
“Sometimes, it’s not about who’s the best, but who gives up last. My ‘Best Sportsgirl’ Award and IB results tell a tale of resilience and grit. I hope my story inspires others to keep fighting, no matter the odds,” she shared.
Min’s dedication has left a lasting impact on her peers and teachers. High School Principal, Mr. Bradley Bird, commended her:
“Min embodies the values of Faith, Service, Community, Excellence, and Respect that we hold dear at SJI International. Her ability to achieve at such a high level academically and athletically, while overcoming profound personal challenges, inspires us all. She is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of a supportive community.”

This commitment to excellence and inclusion reflects the school’s Lasallian values of Faith, Service, Community, Excellence, and Respect.
High School Principal, Mr. Bradley Bird, noted:
“We take pride in our students’ achievements, but their personal growth, resilience, and character development are equally important to us. These qualities prepare them to become confident, compassionate individuals who will contribute meaningfully to society.”
Looking Ahead
With her IB results secured, Min plans to pursue higher education while continuing to represent Singapore in kayaking, with her sights set on future international competitions, including the Asian Games. Her story exemplifies the resilience, determination, and excellence that SJI International seeks to instill in all its students.
