Overview

Dover Court International School is a British international school in Singapore with inclusion at its heart. Part of the Nord Anglia Education family. We offer a broad, balanced and differentiated programme based on the English National Curriculum and enriched with International Primary Curriculum with students working towards GCSE and IB. Your family will join a caring international community that welcomes everyone, celebrates individuality, and prioritises wellbeing. Supported, inspired, and engaged in their learning, we’ll help your child shape their own journey to success. We are located in the educational district of Dover in the west of Singapore.

The school is set on a spacious 12 acre campus which boasts extensive outdoor space embedded in greenery, swimming pool, sensory garden, and multiple playgrounds. We have specialist suites for science, music, design technology, art, drama, as well as a maker space, where our students can learn, make and explore through hands-on activities.

DCIS starts with the Early Years Foundation Stage in our Nursery and Reception classes, where dedicated and experienced teachers provide structured learning through play, in a Reggio-inspired environment, that is both dynamic and engaging. Children then progress through the Primary School, following a well-planned and tested programme of study in a range of subjects. Through the International Primary Curriculum, we are able to teach the National Curriculum for England in a thematic and engaging way.

The Secondary School at DCIS is a blend of practical experience and experimentation, books, discussions, lectures and technology, allowing your child to learn at a rapid pace. Our curriculum offers a thematic approach to education within subject areas, which helps bring learning to life. Our Secondary curriculum is driven by our vision and values, with a strong focus on breadth, depth, and wellbeing. We are proud to offer I/GCSEs as part of this comprehensive curriculum. We frequently collaborate with academic leaders to review and refine our approach, ensuring it meets the needs of our Doverians and equips them with the skills and knowledge they need for a successful future.

Sixth Form, Years 12 and 13, at DCIS offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the International BTEC Diploma ins business in preparation for any future study options our students may follow. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year programme. In order to achieve the IB Diploma, all students study six subjects: three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. In addition, students write an Extended Essay and follow a critical thinking course entitled Theory of Knowledge. Participation in CAS is also required. The IBDP is accepted by universities in the UK, North America, Australia and across the world. The BTEC is a vocational course that prepares students either for future study or for the first steps in the career.

Students whose first language is not English receive targeted support through our EAL programme up to Year 9. Using CEFR assessments in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, we determine each student’s proficiency and the level of support required. EAL learners remain in mainstream classes, where teachers adapt lessons and teaching assistants provide additional help. They also attend specialist‑led intervention sessions twice daily during English and Mandarin, totalling approximately 1.5 hours. Support continues until they can confidently access the curriculum independently. Students are assessed regularly, and once proficiency is reached across all four skills, they exit the programme but continue to be monitored.

Our Department of Supportive Education provides an environment where students of all abilities flourish. It is our mission to nurture the potential of every single student in a dynamic and challenging learning environment.

As part of Nord Anglia Education, NAE, DCIS is also part of a global community of over 65,000 students who collaborate together through the Global Campus. Every Global Campus activity is designed to enrich learning experiences with opportunities beyond the ordinary. From expeditions to Switzerland to visual arts and creative writing competitions, the children are inspired to be ambitious in their learning and to collaborate globally. Nord Anglia Education takes an innovative approach to learning, particularly evident in the collaboration with MIT in developing real-world challenges across the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Our performing arts programme comprises music, drama and dance and is supported by Juilliard through NAE, with regular visits from Juilliard curriculum specialists.

At Dover Court we are proud of our strong parent community and we encourage parents to be actively involved. The Dover Court Association welcomes all parents and holds many events and social gatherings over the course of the year including orientation events, a Halloween party, parent quiz night, Christmas Fair, family movie night and sports day. DCA Class Parents also arrange regular social opportunities for parents.

Things to know

Enrollment phase

At Dover Court International School, our rolling admissions process is designed to offer maximum flexibility for families, especially those relocating to Singapore. We welcome applications for the start of each of our three academic terms, for both the current year and future years, with our largest intake taking place in August. Because places can open throughout the year, applying early is strongly encouraged.Understanding that relocation timelines can be unpredictable, we keep admissions open year‑round, and students may join at any point once a place is confirmed. This ensures families have the flexibility they need during transitions. If a space is not available for your preferred start date, your application will automatically move forward to the next term and continue to remain active until a suitable place becomes available. Submitting an application does not commit you to accepting a place, nor does it represent a formal offer from the school.

Minimum Enrollment Duration

This school requires a minimum enrollment of 12 months, ensuring students have adequate time to benefit from the curriculum and educational experience.

Student Community

Dover Court International School welcomes a vibrant community of 2025 students representing 69 different nationalities.

Health & safety

Dover Court International School (DCIS) in Singapore prioritizes student wellbeing and safety through a comprehensive approach, holding multiple awards for inclusion and wellbeing. The school embeds Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies across all operations, including specialized staff, counselor support, and training programs like LivingWorks safeTALK for students and staff. Safeguarding and child protection are embedded into all aspects of school operation, learning programmes, routines, trip and residential risk assessments, campus maintenance and strategic planning to ensure that keeping children safe and protected from harm remains central. Whilst all adults have a responsibility to safeguard and protect children, there are key senior staff with specific safeguarding responsibilities and additional staff comprising the ‘team around the child’ considered to be the most likely trusted adults.
