Rugby School Thailand is delighted to announce that we have achieved Patron’s Accreditation status with the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).
The School achieved accreditation and compliance across 10 standards, with 20 commendations and two prestigious Beacon status awards. COBIS is the premier global association for international British schools overseas, and has a published set of standards for membership. Rugby School Thailand is proud to have achieved these high standards which demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance, safeguarding and the welfare and development of our staff, students and school community.
COBIS schools represent over 150,000 students and employ more than 30,000 teachers. Over 250 COBIS member schools can be found in 80 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. COBIS works closely with the UK Department for Education and Department for International Trade. COBIS membership shows that Rugby School Thailand is providing high-quality education with a strong British educational ethos to the community in Thailand.
Furthermore, we are the first-ever School to be presented with two Beacon status awards – these have been awarded for Boarding and Extra-Curricular, Enrichment and Engagement. The Beacon School Status is awarded for a standard where the School’s practice is “truly exceptional” and means we are an institution that can be approached for advice and guidance in these areas by other COBIS schools.
COBIS congratulated Rugby School Thailand on this outstanding achievement and at the end of the report acknowledged our remarkable achievement in a relatively short amount of time, as we only opened in September 2017.
“For a school operating in only its fourth year, with all of the challenges it has faced – particularly in the past 12 months – Rugby School Thailand is a remarkably mature institution.”
