BIS Abu Dhabi: Proud BSME U11 Champions and Dedicated Members of BSME
Champions on Our Home Ground
he British International School (BIS) Abu Dhabi celebrated an unforgettable milestone this year as our U11 athletes were crowned overall champions at the BSME U11 Games, an especially proud moment as we hosted 14 visiting schools on our own campus. Across basketball, netball, football, athletics and swimming, our students gave outstanding performances marked by teamwork, determination and exceptional sportsmanship. Winning the tournament while hosting made the achievement even more meaningful, reflecting the spirit and unity of our entire school community.
What Is BSME and Why We’re Part of It
BSME (British Schools in the Middle East) is a leading organisation that connects British‑curriculum schools across the region, offering collaboration, professional development and high‑quality student opportunities. One of its most celebrated programmes is sport, providing students with competitive experiences that build confidence, resilience and leadership.
At BIS Abu Dhabi, we participate in BSME because it aligns with our commitment to student wellbeing, belonging and exceptional outcomes. Through these events, our students gain access to high‑level competition, represent their school with pride and form meaningful connections with peers from across the Middle East.
A Community Effort to Celebrate
Our U11 victory would not have been possible without the incredible support of our student sports leaders, dedicated staff and coaches, enthusiastic parents and the wider BIS Abu Dhabi community. Together, they created a joyful, welcoming and memorable Games weekend for every visiting school.
Hosting and winning the BSME U11 Games reflects the heart of who we are: a community that nurtures ambition, celebrates teamwork and supports every child in thriving.
Congratulations to our remarkable U11 athletes, they have made BIS Abu Dhabi incredibly proud.
