At Institut Montana Switzerland, we believe every child has talent. Our mission is to nurture this talent. We are a fully accredited Swiss international day and boarding school, founded in 1926, and has been an official IB World School since 1987.
There are 4 academic programmes offered:
- De tweetalige basisschool (Engels/Duits, groep 1-6)
- De tweetalige middelbare school (Engels/Duits, groep 7-9)
- De Internationale School (Engels, groep 6-12)
- Zwitsers Gymnasium (Duits of Duits/Engels, groep 7-12)

Located in the heart of Switzerland, our campus is nestled in a peaceful natural setting, providing the perfect atmosphere for our students to focus and flourish. At the same time, we are well connected: just 15 minutes from Zug city and only 1 hour from Zurich airport. Our campus is more than a school, it can be your mountain home. In a land where other international schools also enjoy the peace and beauty of Switzerland, our location stands out.

Individuele ondersteuning en studiebegeleiding
Onze studenten profiteren van kleine klasgroepen (max. 15 studenten), door docenten begeleide studietijden, een persoonlijk academisch adviessysteem, individuele collegebegeleiding en 24-uurs ondersteuning in een familiale sfeer.
IB Diploma Programma
De International School of Institut Montana Switzerland biedt het International Baccalaureate Diploma aan in klas 11 en 12. Het Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) wordt aangeboden aan onze leerlingen in klas 9 en 10. Leerlingen die geen Engels als moedertaal hebben, moeten speciale cursussen Engels als tweede taal volgen totdat hun niveau voldoende wordt geacht om een voorbereidend studieprogramma voor de universiteit succesvol af te ronden.
Buitenschoolse activiteiten
Beyond academics, student well-being is a top priority. We offer a holistic education through more than 50 co-curricular activities, where students are encouraged to explore their passions, whether in arts and music, engineering and technology, or sports such as biking, sledging, and hiking. The Student Council, the Entrepreneurship and MUN programme and various other programmes empower the students to actively contribute to the school life and gain important experiences for their later life.

Instappen
Boarding students live in 3 separate boarding houses based on their age and gender. Grosses Haus is for the older boys, Felsenegg is for the girls and Juventus Haus is for the younger boys. They can choose between single or double rooms.

Het leren dat leidt tot diploma's of Matura's is niet alles. Het wordt het best aangevuld met leeractiviteiten die op zichzelf al inspirerend zijn.
Leerlingen ontwikkelen de motivatie om te leren omwille van het leren, en die motivatie blijft hen hun hele leven bij. Buitenschoolse activiteiten zijn dus meer dan een extraatje of vermaak; ze staan centraal in het schoolleven. Onderweg ontdekken onze jongeren vaak talenten waarvan ze nooit hadden gedacht dat ze die hadden. Ze krijgen de kans om te leren en uit te groeien tot zelfverzekerde, succesvolle volwassenen, die een gezonde levenshouding aannemen en vaardigheden ontwikkelen voor de toekomst.
Being active is crucial for physical and mental health. We want our students to find what motivates them to stay fit and energised. With various options that change regularly, there’s something for everyone.<br /
Faciliteiten
Fitness/gym room, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, football court, mountain biking trekking. More than 25 tools/facilities with more than 10 rooms/studios. Students can have water activities at the lake or golf course nearby.

This school requires a minimum enrollment of 12 months, ensuring students have adequate time to benefit from the curriculum and educational experience.

Institut Montana Switzerland welcomes a vibrant community of 380 students representing 55 different nationalities.
Health & safety
Institut Montana regards the safety, health and well-being of each individual as a priority and self-evident duty of our community. Institut Montana therefore applies security measures that are necessary according to experience and appropriate to the given circumstances, thus promoting the quality of life and welfare of all. The safety, health and well-being of Students and Employees are crucial factors in the way we think, decide, lead and act. All our staff are first aid trained, and we also have an experienced Care Team with a Nurse, School Councelors and specific Learning support. Our empathetic care staff provide confidential student support counselling and support them as they grow from children towards adulthood. We are also proud to be the first Swiss boarding school to become a partner in delivering the accredited evidence-based KiVa Anti-Bullying Program.For all eventualities, we also have strong cooperations with Arbeitssicherheit Schweiz, Krisenkompetenz Schweiz and the official First Response-Organizations.
