One of the defining features of Rugby School Group is the strength of connection between our schools in Japan, Thailand, and the United Kingdom. This past term, pupils at Rugby School Japan (RSJ), Rugby School Thailand (RST), and Rugby School UK (RSUK) had the opportunity to take part in exchange programmes that highlighted exactly what it means to be part of one global family. The experiences provided pupils with a deep immersion that fostered a genuine sense of belonging within a broader network of like-minded peers across two continents.

The aim of the exchanges was simple but powerful: to develop confident, globally minded pupils who are ready to step into the future with independence, curiosity, and cultural awareness. The Rugby name is more than just a label applied to various schools worldwide. In Japan, exchange pupils donned traditional kimonos and visited historic temples, gaining first-hand insight into a culture that seamlessly blends tradition with innovation. In Thailand, they bathed elephants and explored colorful traditional temples, experiencing the warmth and hospitality that define Thai culture. In the UK, pupils enjoyed boat rides along the River Cam and explored the historic sites including Cambridge and Warwick Castle, immersing themselves in a tradition of academic excellence.
And of course, there were moments of pure fun: from the thrills of Tokyo Disneyland to the everyday joy of sharing meals and laughter with new friends. While these memories will last a lifetime, the exchanges were about more than sightseeing or cultural activities. They were about connection. Pupils discovered how much they had in common with peers from across the world, while also learning to appreciate different perspectives and ways of life.
