Students at Hamelin-Laie International School Barcelona are celebrating another year of remarkable academic success, with outstanding outcomes in both the PAU examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
National Baccalaureate PAU Results
Of the 31 students who sat the PAU examinations, 97% successfully obtained the qualification. The group achieved an average university access grade of 7.48 out of 10 and an average university admission score of 11.01 out of 14.
The highest university admission mark reached 12.05 out of 14. Students also earned exceptional subject-specific results across a variety of disciplines, including a perfect score of 10 in Philosophy and marks of 9.5 in Spanish, English, Physics and Technical Drawing.

Our National Baccalaureate results remain consistently strong, providing students with access to leading universities across Catalonia, Spain and around the world.”
IB Diploma Results
The Class of 2026 also recorded excellent results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Among the 75 students who completed the programme, 93% were awarded the IB Diploma, representing an increase of 8% compared with last year’s preliminary results.
The cohort achieved an average score of 31.0 points, surpassing the current global IB average of 30.88 points and reflecting the continued success of the school’s IB offering. The top-performing student attained an impressive 43 points out of a possible 45.
As Mr. Halliwell noted:
“We are proud of our IB Diploma students, who have built on last year’s success with a further increase in Diplomas awarded and a 1.2-point rise in the average score.”

These strong academic results are helping students secure places at prestigious universities around the world, with many receiving offers from their preferred institutions. Confirmed destinations include University College London, the University of Edinburgh, Cornell University, the University of Amsterdam, Copenhagen Business School, ESADE, IE University, Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the University of Navarra, as well as many other highly respected universities across Europe, North America and beyond.
These results are a testament to the dedication and perseverance of the students, supported throughout their academic journey by experienced teachers and the ongoing encouragement of their families.
