Founded in 1981, The American International School of Guangzhou is an independent, non-profit, multicultural, and co-educational day school for foreign children from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. It is located in Guangzhou, China and has two campuses, one on Ersha Island, Yuexiu District and the other in Science Park, Huangpu District. As the oldest and longest established non-profit international school, it is widely considered the premier international school in Guangzhou and the preferred choice for foreign families in South China.AISG is an International Baccalaureate® Continuum School that offers the PYP, MYP, and DP. Accredited by WASC, AISG follows the American Education Reaches Out (AERO), Common Core, and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These standards help to guide the curriculum in all phases and allow for a program that is tailored to the specific context and learners at AISG. AISG is a member of EARCOS and ACAMIS as well as other organizations that support the school to deliver its mission.

Arts, athletics, and activities are integral parts of AISG's educational experience. AISG offers the most comprehensive arts, athletics and activities program of any international school in South China. We offer the widest variety of interscholastic sports, fine arts, performing arts, community service and after school clubs designed to cater to our students’ different and diverse needs. In providing a platform from which students can select a variety of after school activities, whether from an arts, sport, community or academic thread, they are able to carry on learning and experiencing success in a safe, nurturing and accommodating environment.

As the oldest international school in southern China, AISG operates across two campuses. Our Ersha Island campus is located in the heart of bustling Guangzhou City and is home to our Early Years (Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten) and Lower Elementary students (Grades 1-3). Our Science Park campus is located in the heart of Guangzhou’s technology center, Science City in Huangpu District and is where Upper Elementary students (Grades 4-5) and Secondary students (Grades 6-12) attend.
